However, in order to increase the chance of success (stocks going up) we use Point and Figure charting as technical analysis to determine current price trends (momentum or relative strength) before buying or selling.
All too often fundamental analysis tells us to buy despite the fact that the investment is underperforming the market, its asset class or peer group. So, in other words good company bad stock.
Point and Figure charting shows patterns that allow us to buy as prices increase and more importantly sell when buying support is broken. In other words, who is in control--buyers or sellers? Technical analysis helps remove the emotional bias from investing.
